Job Description:	This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Occupational Health function in the unique environment of The National Institute for Medical Research, where top scientists find answers to a range of important questions about human health. The Occupational Health Department provides support to c 750 employees, students and contractors at NIMR and also c50 based at MRCT. The Institute’s employees handle a wide range of pathogens, such as avian flu virus, HIV, TB and malaria. There are Containment Level 4 facilities and a large laboratory animal resource. Within this environment, the OHA is expected to lead, manage and develop a proactive Occupational Health Department which is committed to promote and maintain the highest standards of Occupational Health care both physically and mentally for all employees, and also recognises the growing need to deal with psychological aspects of work. As our sole Occupational Health Advisor, you will be supported in this by an OH Assistant and a visiting Physician. It is an exciting challenge for an RGN with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and proven experience in a similar role. A fluent communicator, you’ll also need plenty of drive and a forward-thinking approach. Situated in Mill Hill, North West London, the MRC National Institute for Medical Research is the largest MRC institute, supporting some 70 research groups and 500 bench scientists. The Institute provides excellent training for researchers in a multi-disciplinary environment and is equipped with state of the art facilities, including genetic modification of mice, imaging, histology, and high throughput sequencing.
